14 February 2009 Posted the Notice of the "Learn How to Trace Your Roots" Seminar. 30 April 2008 Posted the 1842 Elgin Census Indexes 1 Jan 2007 Posted a link for the new Elgin OGS Blog Site 17 Dec 2006 - Google Map addresses are now given on the Cemetery Index page for most of the Elgin County Cemeteries. 15 Dec 2006 - We now have the capability of linking your geotagged Flickr gravestone photos to the appropriate transcription on our cemetery transcription pages. See the Dunboyne Cemetery page for an example (Click on the stone for Sarah (Brown) (Whitesell) Teller). Linking the photo link takes you to the Google Map geo tagged location of the actual gravestone. Send your Flickr photo links to us if you wish your images to be linked to our gravestone transcriptions. 12 Dec 2006 - Elgin OGS to host Region 2 Meeting in April 10 Dec 2006 - We are working hard on improving our site Search Services capability. See our Search Test Site for more search options. 22 Nov 2006 - We love the Elgin County Librarians and we have a special Guide to the Elgin OGS web site to help them service their clients genealogical interests. 15 Nov 2006 - We are now in the process of upgrading the Elgin OGS web site to W3C standards compliant transitional XHTML 1.0 |
